Boating
Located in Sharonville OH, Sharon Woods is one of the most popular parks in Cincinnati. The park offers a golf course, outdoor play area, and dozens of picnic spots. The park also has a 2.6 mile paved multi-purpose trail around Sharon Lake. The park’s other offerings include a two story indoor play area, and a nature and historic center that features a replica 1800s village and a plethora of nature exhibits. The park is also home to a drivethru Christmas light village.
Sharon Woods has more than 730 acres of land and water. The park has a golf course, a 2.6 mile paved trail around Sharon Lake, and an indoor play area for younger children. There are also picnic spots, shelters, and a small lake that is perfect for small boats. The park is part of Hamilton County’s Great Parks.
The park also has a two story, accessible, and two-level indoor play area called the Adventure Station. The Adventure Station is one of the most popular attractions at Sharon Woods. The station is an interactive experience for children aged two to twelve. Visit another area in town here.
Indoor playground
Among the many attractions at Sharon Woods is an indoor playground. The Adventure Station is a two-story indoor playground for children 2 to 12 years old. This play structure features a scavenger hunt, ball pit, a cave, and a giant bird nest.
Another indoor playground is Lil’ Pints Playroom. This playground has an ice-cream-themed slide and a banana-split-inspired teeter-totter. This playground is open during the summer.
Another play structure is the Harbor at Sharon Woods. This playground is large and has a splash pad. It is a favorite for the whole family during the summer. It is free and has two fun water play options. This playground does not have regular swings or ADA swings.
The toddler playground is located next to the toddler splash pad. This playground features a slide, rock wall tunnel, and easy steps. The playground isn’t very large, so it isn’t as much fun for crawlers as it is for older kids.
Great Parks is planning a major upgrade to the playground at Sharon Woods. This playground will be twice as large as the current one. This will allow for more play space and will have public input into the design. The new playground will be west of the Pavilion Grove picnic shelter.
Heritage Village
Located in Sharon Woods, Ohio, Heritage Village is a museum and living history center that depicts life in Southwestern Ohio through the 19th century. The buildings and structures are carefully recreated replicas of those found in the area. They include churches, log cabins, a general store, and a train station.
A group of volunteers is responsible for maintaining the Heritage Village Museum, which is open to the public for guided tours. During guided tours, visitors will learn about the buildings and their functions. Depending on the building, they may hear stories of past residents and see demonstrations. These tours are available Wed-Fri, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and costs $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Heritage Village is operated by a nonprofit organization called Historic Southwest Ohio. It is situated within Sharon Woods Park in Sharonville, Ohio.
